Tech Notes

"So what do you do when microsoft support claims that the problem is Dells fault, and Dell support says it's a microsoft problem?... Call Me"

~

"Att DSL support claims you have a phone line problem and refers you to the line repair department...the line repair dept. says it's a DSL problem and refers you back again.
Both departments assume that the installation wasn't done properly ( customers fault ). In the end it turned out to be Att's problem...as I explained to them over and over...but it took several days to get an Att tech to make the visit to the house...and only ten minutes of his time to fix it.  This was the outcome even with my full attention acting on my customers behalf...an 84 year old woman that Att would have continued to charge every month for service she wasn't getting"

~

"Most large manufacturers and service providers will first attempt to avoid, defer, disqualify or refuse to support their products because there is no profit in support, however they want to appear to be supportive to the extent that it helps produce sales"

~

"The less you know about your computer the more vulnerable you become to those that do...and it's not just criminals that are out to get your money"
